Terms of use
Short, and in plain words. These terms cover this site, the free contraction timer on it, and the Wavesong iPhone app once it exists. Using them means accepting what is here.
Wavesong is not a medical device and it does not give medical advice. It does not diagnose, it cannot rule anything out, and it never says you are in labor. It shows the pattern you timed against the rule you picked.
Your provider's instructions win over anything this site or this app shows. The NHS says to call your midwife or maternity unit for guidance if you think you are in labor, and to call urgently if your water breaks, if you are bleeding, if your baby is moving less than usual, or if you are under 37 weeks. Both lines are linked at the foot of this page.
There are no clinicians on this team and no page on this site is reviewed by a doctor.
Who you are agreeing with
Wavesong is built by Digital Nafta, an independent studio that owns this site, the timer on it and the iPhone app. The contraction timer is free, with no account and nothing to pay. The app is paid and not out yet, so nothing here sells anything today. There is only one email on the day it opens.
What the notice above means in practice
The timer does arithmetic on taps you make. It has no view of your body, so it cannot tell you that anything is fine or that anything is wrong. A part of your rule reading as met is not a diagnosis and it is not an instruction from us. The numbers themselves are explained on the 5-1-1 rule, Braxton Hicks or labor and when to go.
Fair use, and the timer exactly as it is
Use it for yourself, or with someone you are supporting. It is free and carries no promise that it will be up, fast, or here tomorrow. It depends on your browser and your device clock, and every number comes from that clock. Your log lives in that browser, so clearing it loses the log. Detail in privacy.
- Do not break, overload or scrape the site, or rebuild it as your own service.
- Do not offer the timer to anyone as a clinical tool, a triage tool, or a substitute for calling a provider.
- Do not resell it or pass it off as your own.
The email that sends you your log
The form under the timer takes the log you timed, puts it in plain text and sends it to the address you typed. It goes once, to that address, and we keep no copy. It is not a way to send text to other people, and the server checks the shape of the log before sending.
Subscriptions, once the app exists
The app will be sold through Apple at 79.99 USD per year or 12.99 USD per week. There is no free trial and no introductory price, because the timer here is free and runs the same model. The price is also at pricing.md and what it costs.
- It renews automatically at the end of each period until you cancel it.
- You cancel it in the App Store, under your Apple account, before it renews.
- Payment, receipts and refunds are handled by Apple, so a refund request goes to Apple.
- Restore Purchases is on the paywall and in settings, so a new phone never means paying twice.
- Prices can change, never for a period already paid for.
What belongs to whom, and where we link out
The name Wavesong, the design, the text and the code belong to Digital Nafta. Quoting a sentence with a link back is fine. Copying the pages or shipping the model inside your own product is not. The contractions you time are yours, and the browser timer never sends them to us. Links out to ACOG, the NHS or MedlinePlus point at sites that are not ours.
What we answer for, and what we do not
We answer for building this honestly and fixing it when it is wrong. We do not answer for what happens in your labor, because a timer counting taps has no view of it. As far as the law allows, Digital Nafta is not liable for loss following from use of this site or the app, including any decision about when to call anyone or when to travel. Where liability cannot be excluded it is limited to what you have paid us, which here is nothing.
Law, changes and a person to write to
Digital Nafta operates from Spain, so these terms are governed by Spanish law and the courts of Spain, and nothing here removes a consumer right you hold where you live. Apple's terms also cover a subscription bought in the App Store. These terms can change, and this version was last updated on 24 August 2026. Write to support@digitalnafta.com, answered by a person within two business days.
Where the notice at the top comes from
- NHS, signs that labour has begun. Call your midwife or maternity unit for guidance if you think you are in labour, or if contractions come every 5 minutes or more often.
- NHS, the stages of labour and birth. Lists what to call about urgently: your waters breaking, bleeding, the baby moving less than usual, and being less than 37 weeks.
Questions about these terms
Does using the timer mean somebody has looked at my numbers?
No. Every number is worked out on your own device. The one exception is the log email, which happens only when you ask for it.
Can I use the timer without agreeing to any of this?
Using it is what acceptance means, so not really. There is nothing to sign and no data to hand over, and closing the tab leaves nothing of yours behind.
How do I cancel, and who gives the refund?
In the App Store, under your Apple account, before the next renewal. Apple takes the payment and Apple issues refunds, so refund requests go to Apple.
The app is not out. What am I agreeing to today?
The parts about this site and the free timer. The subscription section applies from the day the app is on the App Store. Until then there is nothing to buy.
