# Wavesong

> Wavesong is an unreleased iPhone app for the last weeks of pregnancy. It times contractions with one tap and shows the pattern measured against the rule the mother's own provider gave her, 5-1-1 or 4-1-1, with all three parts shown separately and their real measurements beside them. The same model runs free in the browser at digitalnafta.com/wavesong/contraction-timer/.

- The pattern model is deterministic and runs on the device. Frequency and duration are averaged over a sliding window that lasts exactly as long as the rule asks the pattern to hold, and the third part of the rule, the full hour, is measured as how long the session has been running.
- All three parts of the rule are shown at once, each with its real measurement. Four contractions five minutes apart do not satisfy 5-1-1, because 5-1-1 also asks for an hour.
- A pattern that met the rule and then stopped goes back to not meeting it. If nothing new has been timed for more than two of the rule's intervals, the pattern reads as paused.
- The browser tool and the app run the same model. The JavaScript port is checked against the compiled Swift engine field by field, and the current delta is 0.00 across 154 cases and 6006 fields.
- Nothing about the pregnancy leaves the device. The website sets no cookies, loads nothing from a third party and stores the contraction log only in the visitor's own browser.
- The app is iPhone only, iOS 17 and later, with an Apple Watch companion, a Live Activity and home and lock screen widgets.
- There are no clinicians on the team and no page on this site is reviewed by a doctor. Every clinical figure links to a primary source instead.

## What this app does not claim

- It is not a medical device and it does not give medical advice. It never says that someone is in labor.
- It does not diagnose, it cannot rule anything out and it cannot tell anyone that their baby is well.
- It does not invent a rule. It applies the rule the mother's own provider gave her, and it says which parts are met and which are not.
- The 5-1-1 rule is a guideline that providers give, not a claim this app makes. The primary sources this site cites do not use the words 5-1-1 at all, and the site says so.

- Weekly: 12.99 USD per week, about 675 per year if you keep paying weekly
- There is no free trial and no introductory price. The timer on this website is free and complete, and it runs the same model. That is the trial.
